Hello there! I know it's been ages since I last updated! :( Have been pretty busy with tons of schoolwork + my part time job! It's not easy to keep up with baking when you're so busy, trying t get those As and earning more money at my part time job so I can afford to buy all those ingredients for my baking hobby!

Baking truly makes you broke (and fat) but it also gives you this immense satisfaction when your friends squeal at how tasty and pretty your bake goods are!

Anyhoooo! I managed to squeeze in some time for some baking! And I've added in a new flavour! Raisin! Yumz!

I know this is very late (we're already in December!), but here are some pictures of Halloween! I made those cute little ghosts and pumpkins and what nots! Brought it to school, and gone within 10 minutes! Hahaha!

& also, was looking at all those rainbow cupcakes and cakes online and felt inspired! So decided to make some rainbow cupcakes. Also, my friend, Sheila, requested a ra
inbow cake for her birthday, and TA-DAH! Made a rainbow cake for her! :)

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!

If you have seen my FB posts, I've been saying I bought some really nice stuff in preparation for Valentine's Day! My favorite shops to get baking stuff are Phoon Huat and Daiso! Well, I mainly visit Phoon Huat for ingredients and hard to find toppers and boxes! & Daiso for really nice wrappers and ribbons!

I decided to get 10 small cake boxes which fitted 2 cupcakes perfectly, for my poly friends who went to University with me! They've really been a joy and I really look forward to school whenever I think of them! Decided to make chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with white and pink icing respectively!

So, I got those edible rose flowers cos they were just too pretty! I sprinkled some red fairy dust on the icing and just placed the rose on top!

I used chocolate to pipe an "XO" on top of the pink icing!!

As usual, I'll always print a card and stick it onto the cake box!

Here are the 2 cupcakes in the box!

And so, my poly-uni friends were settled, which left me with my University classmates and my clique which I was meeting on Valentine's day itself! So, i thought about it and it'd be really crazy to make over 60 boxes of cupcakes for everyone! (With never ending projects, assignments and homework!) I decided to make cookies for everyone than! It was faster, and I am able to make many many cookies in one batch! I made my signature cinnamon cookies (sadly, I didn't manage to get a photo!)and I wanted to make chocolate chip cookies, but I ran out of chocolate chips, so I made chocolate ones instead.

I bought such cute cupcake wrappers (to store the cookies and some boxes of cupcakes) and ribbons from Daiso! Everything there is just $2!

The blue and pink ones were for my cliqe, blue of the boys, and pink for the girls!

My best friend and her gf!

Sadly, I didn't take photos of everyone in the clique, but here are the boys!

I also printed stickers to be pasted on the wrappers! That's about 44 packets of cookies for my class!

Also in class, my friend Yuyi bought us a VERY HUGE COOKIE for Valentine's Day!

Can't wait for the next occasion to bake bake bake!

I'm so excited! I launched CupcakeNotWar shortly before Christmas. I used to have an old site selling cupcakes and other desserts but i decided to move it here at CupcakesNotWar!

Well, the layout and how I presented my products was rather messy and all over the place. Hope this site is a better one!

&&&&&&&!! My friends have started ordering cupcakes from me again. I remembered stopping for a year and a half to concentrate on my school and work (it was during my internship period in Poly) and I remember being quite a workaholic.. Now, I've entered University and apparently the timetable provides me quite a bit of free time, thus I started baking again and able to work part-time!

Anyway, not to digress.... Last week, my oldest friend, Sheila ordered Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes with white and blue icing.. I didn't have much time to take much fancy shots.. :(

And this week, Joanna & Baoming both ordered 6 Vanilla and 6 Chocolate cupcakes each! Joanna requested vanilla and chocolate icing and I decided to give Baoming the same icing since he was so flexible with everything..

Jo's cupcakes with mini hearts, gold stones and chocolate rice:

Baoming's cupcakes:

He actually asked for mini hearts with personalized wordings (which I will not say here, for fear of embarrassing him and he wouldn't support me anymore) for a girl. But at the last minute he backed out and just want to consume the cupcakes himself.. So I gave him an assortment of sprinkles..

Baoming, if you see this, use the cupcakes as an opportunity as well! Give it a try dude. HAHAHAHA....

That's all for now, shall get ready for class. TATA!

Hi everyone!

Just got back from Hokkaido, Japan 2 days ago.. It was awesome there!! The weather was so cold and up in the mountains, it can get as cold at -14C!!

Anyway, my friend, Amanda invited me to her 21st birthday party! The theme was BRIGHT COLOURS, thus I tried to make the cupcakes for her as bright and colourful as possible! Hope she liked it!

Happy 21st Birthday Amanda!

Today, I was just sitting at home feeling bored and I decided to try some new recipes which I found in some recipe books that I own.

I made Strawberry & Marbled cupcakes!

Those 2 flavours are now available for sale. I decided to try to make the marble one out of inspiration because my mom bought a marbled cake and I just wanted to transform it into cupcake sizes! :D Doesn't look as marble-y as I would have liked. But it tastes great nonetheless. Vanilla flavoured with hints of chocolate every now and then.

Halfway through my baking therapy, my friend, Joanna PM-ed me on Facebook saying she wants to order cupcake from me. Finally found my reason to justify my baking frenzy! She wanted 15 cupcakes, so I made another batch of Chocolate flavoured cupcakes and gave her 5 Strawberry, 5 Marbled, and 5 Chocolate cupcakes!

Hope she likes them!

I'll be giving the remainder cupcakes to my Best friend, Nic, who'll be looking after my hamster, Buibui, while I travel to Hokkaido! Also, some to my university friend whom I'm meeting tomorrow for Karaoke!

Tata! Time to wash my hamster cage. :(

Christmas 2010!

So, for this year's Christmas, I decided to do something special for all of my friends! I wanted their presents to be original, special, unique, practical and of cos, Christmas themed! So I surfed the internet and various pastry sites to get inspiration for this! 6 uniquely designed cupcakes for my special friends!

I have a Canon photo printer at home, so I just designed and printed out a card to be pasted on the very plain white boxes! That's my hamster, Buibui, on the top left corner. Everyone loves him cos he's just so fat and cute!

I made 2 batches of cupcakes with about 60-70 cupcakes each batch. Took me a WHOLE day for each batch! I repeated certain (easier) designs for the 2nd batch as I was running out of time and bought plastic Christmas decorations which I could just stick it into the cupcakes! I tried to have a variety of flavors for every box. For the first batch, I made Chocolate, blueberry, & Oreo! For the 2nd batch, I made, lemon, vanilla, Chocolate, banana, & fruit cake!

Some pictures of my creations are below!

These are the special people in my life who received my cupcakes! Without them, I wouldn't be who I am today!

Also, I can't forget the one person who stood by me for almost 4 years. Thank you Gilbert Lim Wei Sheng for everything you've done for me.. From washing Buibui's cage to cushioning my fall (literally), you've done everything in your power to keep me safe and happy (and fat)!

I made fruit cupcake for him.. His favorite! And I recieved those Christmas cupcake toppers from my friend during a Christmas Exchange. Decided to use this for him cos the next time I'm able to use them would be next year! D: Don't want them to spoil! The Santa's so cute I almost didn't hand them over. Also kept 2 cupcakes plain for his parents!

Thank you loved ones!
